Keiston Knight Boehme

We have not been too good at updating our blog, but having a new baby deserves a spot on it. Felisha has always wanted me to add to the blog because it is both ours, so this is coming from me (Tate).

Felishas due date according to the ultrasound was February 26 and according to the Dr. was March 4. She had been thinking that the baby would come sooner because of the adjusting her body was going through. We were hopeing that he would come around the 18th of February or soon after because the following week kids here were out of school so some of the kids Felisha baby sits would be able to be home with siblings and others she would not have to worry about taking them to school they could just be in the house.
Sunday the 19th we went over to my parents for dinner, came home put Khyrum to bed, then spent some time together watching a movie before bed. Around 2:30 Felisha woke me from my sleep because she was having some pains. she stayed in bed trying to get some sleep but the pains kept coming back. around 3:30 we realized the baby would soon be coming.
We started timing the contractions. The next 2 were 5 minutes apart then they started getting closer and closer. Felisha decided to get in the shower to detensify the pain. When she was done she was hoping to get back in bed and get some sleep. When she was about to leave the bathroom her water broke.
We decided to call the hospital and tell them what was happening and they could prepare for us to get there. it was 4:43 AM when we called. The nurse said come now! Of course Felisha had to grab her earings before she left and then went to see Khyrum in bed one more time before the baby came, and I took the baby monitor next door to my brother so he could listen for Khyrum.
We got to the Hospital at 5 AM and started checking in. Felisha started another contraction and told the nurse she feels like she has to push. The nurse left the paper work and took Felisha to the room, got her a robe, and told her to change and then get in the bed, and then she left for a minute to call the dr and get stuff ready. Felisha started another intense contraction before she could get in the bed. The nurse came in and helped her in the bed so she could check her dialation. The babies head was almost out at this point so the nurse said "okay your going to push next contraction." A couple deathly screams and a push and there was the new baby. Born at 5:14 AM just 14 minutes after arriving at the hospital. The nurses asked if baby had a name. We said,"Yes, Keiston Knight" (Felisha has names picked for all our kids and more). I cut the ambilical cord and they moved the baby to the table then the dr walked in. about a minute too late. he made it there pretty fast, but not fast enough.
We were so delited that he came when he did. Perfect timing! He looks identical to Khyrum when he was born. He weighed 7lb 5oz. and for some reason we never got his length. Felisha will call tomorrow and find that out.
At 7 AM Felisha had me run home for a couple things and to wait for Khyrum to wake up. Soon after I got home Khyrum woke. He started asking for mom and i told him mom was at the hospital with the new baby and we would go see them soon. he started walking around saying "mom, hopital (hospital), baby. I took him up to the hospital and he was so happy to see the new baby. right away he climbed on moms bed to be closer to the baby and asking to hold him. Khyrum just loves Keiston to death. He cant get enough of him. Hes always rubbing his head or giving him kisses and when Keiston crys, Khyrum tells mom to feed him! We are so blessed to have these little boys in our lives, we love them to death, and are so excited for the journey ahead!

Father's Day!!

How wonderful it is to have a husband, who is also the father of my child. The joy this man brings to mine and Khyrum's life, its hard to find words to describe.

There are a few characteristics I would love to point out though:

He is hardworking- Anyone that knows Tate knows that he takes his work very seriously. He is not a lazy person. He will do what he has to do to provide and maintain. I once asked him what his hobbies were even though I knew the answer (Soccer and Hockey), but the answer he gave me was WORK.
-_-

He is very considerate-  Always wanting to know what the next person thinks or will do anything to make others happy, even if he is left out. This is one of the reasons I fell for him. He is a total gentleman. Chivalry is not dead because of him.

Gentle and kind- He barely raises his voice and he is such a sweetheart to Khyrum and me.

Smart- To me he is very smart. He would beg to differ, but I ain't having it. Come on, I mean he looks like a nerd, so he must be... right? :s

All in all, I am so blessed. I couldn't ask for a better partner in crime.  I only wish that others could be blessed the way I am.

HAPPY BELATED FATHERS DAY to all the men

A toddler?!... Seriously?

On Saturday April the 7th at 2:56am, after 8 full hrs of labour, a handsome little boy was born.  365 days and counting later Khyrum Drake is now a YEAR old!  Can you even imagine that? Me neither and I've watched him grow everyday since. Its pretty bitter sweet that he's gotten so big. I mean, not only does he reject my cuddles because he thinks he's too grown for that, but we now have to be more conscious of our diet decisions cause he wants and eats everything that we do.

But besides him being so demanding like a grown man, We have been fortunate enough to enjoy a really fun and outgoing little boy. Now that he is a year old he has been:

* Walking for a good while now.
* Eats almost everything. ( have'nt tried him with nuts or tuna fish yet)
* Can handle spicy foods and drinks whole cows milk
* Talks, but its mostly gibberish
* Can sign more, please, thank you and milk

And many more things that I won't brag about...

We had a little birthday family dinner for him. We didn't wanna go too crazy on a birthday he will never remember, but we did snap when it came to the birthday cake...

Beautifully made cake by my sister Holly

Shout out to Khyrum's Birthday twin Maishaah!

He has so much personailty and he is ridiculously loving. A total momma's boy but is definitely a sucker for his dada.

He can be mischevious, always getting into stuff no matter how much you tell him no.
 He is multi-talented
 Charming and Adorable

Helpful

 Did I mention funny?
Oh how we L.O.V.E our ...

There you have it. This is the reason why I am so mushy and have become a major nurturer these days. He makes me want to be a better person daily. I look forward to many more years with this kid. Sometimes its hard to imagine me with another baby. All I want is my baby boy!

So we have discovered that Khyrum has a natural ability to dance... we know he got that from his mama cause his daddy cant dance! He loves to shake his cute lil' booty. He sure can drop it like it's hot!

He has also been taking steps. Before he got sick he started taking a couple steps from his dad to his mom. During his sickness all he wanted to do was cuddle so he had no practise walking. Once he got better it seemed like he had to relearn how to take steps. A couple days after he started taking a lot more steps. He mostly will walk from dad to mom but when we try to make him walk from mom to dad most times he wont do it. In this one he is pretty skeptical, due to the amount of times he has fallin on his head.

Out with the old and in with the new!!

Happy New Year Y'all!
Oh what a wonderful year 2010 was. So many things to be grateful for. We had our kid that year and we moved to a new place also. I (Felisha) was able to go home to Toronto and visit family too. All in all, the year has been good to us.

New Years Eve

We wanted to keep this years celebration simple, especially because we are now a threesome. We accepted the offer to go out for dinner at a Japenese restaurant called O Sho. Delish! It is a really cool, mellow restaurant that gives you the Japanese experience by making you sit on the the "floor" (not really) while eating dinner. We were lucky to be accompanied by wonderful people. Good times!

Sexy us :)

The Kutarna's (Minus beautiful Natalie!)

Us along side the Mendenhall's

Yummers!

After our dinner, The Mendanhall's and us went back to their place for a movie. We watched the movie called My Sister's Keeper. Phenominal movie.Such a tear jerker. The roles were beautifully played. I recommend y'all watch it.

Our Little Bundle of Joy!

Khyrum Drake Boehme was born at 2:56 AM on Saturday April 17, 2010, in Raymond. He came after 8 hours of labour. He was 8 pounds 1 ounce. He was due to arrive April 10 but of course, he decided to come on his own time. So far we can tell that he will grow up to be determined. He is also, pretty observant. He just sits back and watches what is happening around him. People's first reaction to him is usually that he is so "serious", but we like to think that he just doesn't give away his smiles to any and everyone lol He really is so sweet... delicious even lol. He is such a big goof. His favorite thing to do right now is make "farting" noises on his or someone elses arm lol

Being parents.... Wow. We still can't believe he's ours! Life for us has a whole new purpose. It is much more meaningful. We see things in a different perspective now. We've become more gentle, a lot more humble and even more creative. Since we have been fortunate to witness the miracle of creation, we feel a lot closer to God and His power and His mercy.

Honeymoon Cruise

We just thought we would go back a little in our lives to update everyone. We were fortunate enough to go on a Carribean Cruise for our honeymoon. We started in Miami and cruised to Labadee Haiti, Ocho Rios Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island, and Coco Cay Bahamas. We had a blast!! And it was even more awesome because we shared the experience with our close friends, Justin and Vanessa Haylin. Some of you may think we are crazy for going on the same honeymoon as our friends, but we loved it!
